Evaluation

1.  What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
Firstly I have learnt how to storyboard. This was very useful when planning for my ‘Silent movie’ and ‘Top Ten’ sequences. I also picked up new skills in AfterEffects. These new skills helped me develop my initial storyboard ideas into moving image.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?
I really enjoyed designing for screen and moving image. Designing for this Top Ten brief was challenging because there were a lot of different factors to consider when designing for the storyboards and for screen. When designing for the Top Ten brief I had to consider time, sound, movement and the 3rd dimension. My storyboarding evolved once I started considering the 3rd dimension.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
My strengths in this module were storyboarding designing. This helped me when I came to design my title sequence.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?
My time management wasn’t great. I think if I should have left myself more time for designing within aftereffects. I thought I would have picked the skills up quicker than I did. However im very happy with Idents and title sequences iv produced.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing
 these?
1. Time management- Allow more time to learn programmes.
2. More storyboarding to help with planning for final pieces.
3. Use some vectored imagery to see how I can develop the moving image I have created.
4. Experiment with different typefaces to see how I can develop the moving image I have created.
5. Experiment with more colour to see how I can develop the moving image I have created.
